Poundland’s ‘Lovely-jubbly’ Croydon store re-launches
Just a week before writer John Sullivan announced that the British sitcom ‘Only Fools and Horses’ will be no longer, the wheeler dealer, Del Boy, made an appearance at the Poundland Croydon store re-opening.
The doors to the Croydon store opened on 8 February and the official ribbon cutting ceremony with the Del Boy look-a-like was held on 9 February. However, there wasn’t any ‘dodgy gear’ in store just lots of entertainment for all the family and hundreds of pounds to be won.
The store held a Checkout Challenge, with £150 vouchers to be won at regular intervals throughout the day; shoppers at the tills were randomly selected to answer questions in order to win prizes.
The Croyden store re-launch is one of the first stages of the Poundland ‘makeover’. Poundland Store Manager Safar Remali said: “We’re getting a total makeover which will not only create a better shopping environment for our customers but will make the store easier to shop in.”
