NEW THAMES VALLEY EMPLOYMENT HEAD FOR MORGAN COLE
The Oxford office of Morgan Cole has further boosted its private client practice with the appointment of Solicitor Kathryn Woodward. Coming from Hodsons in Abingdon where she qualified four years ago, Kathryn specialises in Wills and Probate and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Kathyrn’s appointment follows strong growth in demand for Morgan Cole’s services in relation to the personal affairs of private and business clients across the spectrum.
James Greig heads the Succession, Wills and Tax team in the Thames Valley, where Morgan Cole has a long history of private client work. James says: “We believe when looking at the important long-term issues associated with family wealth, clients want the security of knowing they have entrusted their affairs to a team of lawyers who are both competent and approachable. Kathryn’s arrival will strengthen our ability to deliver prompt and sensible advice to clients at the time it is needed.”
Kathryn, 29, says, “Coming to Morgan Cole will allow me to take on a more challenging role. I am looking forward to working with the team here.”
The need for advice has rarely been greater. James appeared on BBC Breakfast in September 2007 in relation to the changes in the law on powers of attorney and says, “The last five years have seen a rapid series of changes in the law affecting the taxation of trust and estates, Will drafting and the affairs of the elderly. Many people do not keep their Wills up to date with changes in the law or with changes in family circumstances, or worse, have no Will. The Chancellor’s pre-budget report last October provides a number of new opportunities which should be looked at, and the New Year may be a good time to put this right.”
