Active school holiday solution for children

With a couple of months to go until the summer holiday commences, parents may already be worrying about how to entertain their children during this year’s summer holidays. However, help is at hand as one of the largest providers of children’s activity holidays in the UK, Super Camps, confirms it will be running activity day camps in schools across the UK this year to offer a solution to the child care timetable nightmare.

Parents can avoid trying to juggle the responsibilities of home life with work and enrol their children into Super Camps where they can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities and play with children of a similar age. Working parents in particular need to plan ahead to manage their child care and ensure that their child’s summer fun isn’t sacrificed.

Katie McIntosh, Super Camps’ Regional Manager says: “As a parent, the thought of packing the whole of the summer holiday with entertainment and fun can be an extremely daunting task. Together with working full-time, the prospect of summer can seem stressful and far from enjoyable.”

Super Camps will operate at 58 sites across the UK this summer. The camps offer children the opportunity to take part in activities that combine sport, arts and play for as long as the whole holiday or as little as one day. A day camp costs between £30 - £32, which is as little as £3 an hour.

Ben Prior, Super Camps’ Managing Director says: “We recognise how difficult it can be for parents to try and manage childcare and we acknowledge that most of the time parents feel guilty juggling their work commitments throughout the holidays. We aim to minimise that guilt by offering fun-fuelled holidays.”

Super Camps’ activities include swimming, karting, trampolining, cooking and art. The interaction with other children can also enhance their development skills.
