The British Swimming Pool Federation makes a splash with SPATEX - The Pool, Spa & Lifestyle Show

It’s time to dive in to the 14th Swimming Pool Allied Trade Association Exhibition (SPATEX). The Pool, Spa & Lifestyle Show runs from 6 – 8 February at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel. The exhibition, organised by SPATEX, is the UK’s largest swimming pool and hot tub exhibition.

Companies from across the UK will gather at SPATEX to showcase the wet leisure industry’s most innovative products. Visitors will see the industry’s most impressive products, all designed to show how swimming pools and spas can bring leisure, health and relaxation to home life, as well as injecting fun for all the family.

As well as a great showcase for trade contacts, SPATEX is now increasing its appeal to the public as growing interest from consumers has led to an extension to the brand, which is now referred to as SPATEX – The Pool, Spa & Lifestyle Show.

Chris Hayes is Managing Director of the British Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF), the organisation which brings together the UK bodies - including SPATEX - that represent the wet leisure industry. He explains: “There is no doubt that there is a demand from consumers as well as the trade for this type of Show.  We have introduced a ‘consumer walkway’ which will show off a full range of swimming pools and prices.   This attracts consumers to the event whilst also retaining the renowned SPATEX brand for the trade audience.”

During the three day Show the SPATA Awards will also take place. These awards recognise the achievements of the pool industry by showcasing the best examples of construction, design and innovation in categories such as Pool of the Year, Environmental Award and Innovation Award.

Chris Hayes says: “This year is the 34th year of the SPATA Awards and once again it has proven to be more popular than in previous years with an abundance of entries. The judging process was tough with a shortlist of 90 entries across the 22 awards to be presented on the evening.”
