  Poundland’s progress
 


The Poundland blog originally started as a tool to increase traffic to the Poundland website over the Christmas period. However, since launching in December 2007 the blog has grown from strength to strength and now has up to 10,000 visitors per month, which is set to hit 15,000 in the New Year.

The blog was launched to allow regular communication about what new products are coming to its stores and is now an established and vital part of the Poundland marketing mix.

The Poundland blog has an established following and the key to its success has been knowing and understanding their online audience, posting regularly, making posts relevant to current online and news discussions, regularly engaging with people who comment on its posts, and linking back to bloggers, such as Ambivalent Girl, Saving Stuff and the official Coronation Street fan site blog.

BOTTLE PR is Poundland’s retained PR agency. Every month we run the media relations and radio promotions for Poundlands new stores, which average about four every month. Our media relations programme continues to progress apace, with regular ‘credit crunch’-busting stories in the national newspapers, such Captain Crunch in the Sun, who is a fan of the store.
