  Making the Skills Pledge

Following the success of the recent Train to Gain PR campaign for the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) in the South East, BOTTLE PR is currently promoting the benefits for companies making the Skills Pledge.

The Skills Pledge is a voluntary, public commitment made by employers to encourage and support employees to improve their skills and gain qualifications.

John Denham Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills and MP for Southampton Itchen, addressed 22 local organisations that made the Skills Pledge live at an event in Southampton on 5 December.

Jonathan Shaw, MP, Minister for the South East and Lord Tony Young of Norwood Green, Under Secretary of State for Skills & Apprenticeships spoke at a Guildford Breakfast event on 25 November where six organisations made the Skills Pledge, including Surrey Fire and Rescue Services and Ramsac Ltd.

BOTTLE PR is also writing a wide range of case studies on organisations that have made the Skills Pledge to explain the benefits, which include improved efficiencies, cost savings and better staff morale and teamwork.

Media coverage gained so far includes ITV Meridian, BBC Three Counties Radio, Eagle Radio (Guildford) and the Surrey Advertiser series, with many features and articles pipelined for December and January.
