Energy and Utility Skills Turns to BOTTLE PR to heat up brand awareness

Energy and Utility Skills (EU Skills) has appointed Oxfordshire-based agency BOTTLE, following a competitive pitch.

EU Skills, the Sector Skills Council for the energy and utility industries, represents the needs of businesses in the gas, power, waste management and water sectors. The organisation also consists of The National Skills Academy for Power which aims to address the growing skills gap across the power industry.

BOTTLE has been charged with undertaking a highly targeted PR agenda, which will focus on building the company’s presence in the UK national media, as well as trade titles. The brief also includes boosting brand awareness amongst employers in the energy and utility industries, as well as increasing the industries attractiveness as a career choice to job-seekers.

Claire Cairns, founder and director of BOTTLE , commented: “We are delighted to be working with EU Skills. As a company at the forefront of addressing skills gaps in the UK, we want to support them in getting the message out there across the wider public sector and business fields. We have some really exciting media relations and stakeholder relations campaigns in the pipeline."

The agency will report directly to Andrea Allison, head of comms at Solihull-based EU Skills. Ms Allison said: “We were impressed by the mass national press BOTTLE generated for the Sector Skills Council Proskills, and wanted to use their extensive experience, knowledge and contacts in the national and industry media to spearhead brand awareness in the UK.”
