Tayto Group Ltd appoints BOTTLE as UK PR Agency for the Golden Wonder brand

Public relations agency BOTTLE will support Golden Wonder with PR campaigns

Tayto Group Ltd, makers of Golden Wonder,
has called upon public relations consultancy BOTTLE to handle the UK consumer PR activity for its iconic crisps & snacks products.

Tayto, the UK’s third largest crisps and snacks manufacturer, acquired Golden Wonder in 2006. The brand has recently stepped up its supermarket distribution significantly and is looking to match this new level of activity with PR campaigns to support the brand.

BOTTLE will
promote the crisps range, including two exclusive Heinz flavours, in consumer media and will also kick-start a social media presence for the challenger brand, reporting into Suzy Broughton, GB Marketing Manager for Tayto. The initial PR campaign, led by Kate Gibson, Director of Everyday People at BOTTLE, will focus on increasing awareness of Golden Wonder as the ‘full on flavour’ alternative in supermarkets, targeting everyday mums buying multipacks for the family as part of the weekly shop. This activity will be followed by a creative brand building campaign in the spring of 2013.

Suzy Broughton, GB Marketing Manager for Tayto Group Ltd,
comments: "We will commence activity by focusing on those who remember us from childhood; but anyone who thinks we’re stuck in the past can think again. This is all about the future and we recognise that we need to start with the people who know us best.”

Of the BOTTLE appointment, she says: “The BOTTLE team impressed us with a down to earth approach and passion for the brand. They also had some impressive creative PR ideas, which we hope to deploy later this year and into 2013. ”

Claire Cairns, CEO at BOTTLE
, comments: “This is a fantastic win for us. Golden Wonder is one of the nation’s favourite brands, which is now a challenger in the market. This is just the kind of mission we love; increasing Golden Wonder’s market share by stepping up awareness of the brand – perfect.
