BOTTLE has been appointed by ResMed, the global leader in sleep and respiratory medicine, to raise awareness of sleep apnoea.
The campaign, which will run for at least a year and will focus on three audiences – GPs, secondary care professionals and men over 40.
Emma Braithwaite, ResMed’s UK Head of Marketing, said: “BOTTLE is taking a strategic approach. With the commissioning landscape changing, pressure is on for sleep and respiratory units to prove the cost effectiveness of their treatments. Part of the strategy will look at how we can work alongside our secondary care customers to ensure that they successfully maintain funding for what has been proven to be a cost beneficial treatment.
“We have asked BOTTLE to focus on sleep apnoea rather than ResMed as the leading supplier – getting more people successfully diagnosed and quickly treated is the aim.”
BOTTLE will work to raise awareness among GPs and will also focus on raising awareness among of the symptoms and impact of sleep apnoea on work performance, personal relationships and – above all – health, in order to help people secure a correct diagnosis and referral from their GP.
Carole Scott, Director at BOTTLE, said: “Before taking the brief, I had no idea what sleep apnoea is but we’ve learnt a lot in a very short time and are determined that PR can make a difference. The team at ResMed is fantastic and we’re looking forward to getting stuck into this issues-based campaign.”
