The award aims to reward those who are going the extra mile to make their mark on the industry
Victoria, 28, who joined BOTTLE in November 2009 as Executive PR Consultant, was promoted to Senior PR Consultant within nine months. She is currently working on a number of key accounts including Rentokil Pest Control, Oxford University Press, pawnbroker borro.com and Parker’s.
David Gallagher, President of European operations at Ketchum Pleon who chaired the judging commented: "Several judges commented that reviewing the entries was like watching our business evolve in fast motion. Almost every entry pointed to the fast-moving trends shaping PR today: integration, social engagement and a conscious attempt to measure impact, and there was no discernible difference in quality between the categories.
" Paula Kelsey, Director of the Fresh PR Awards, continued: “This was especially so amongst the excellent candidates shortlisted as the Fresh Face of PR, the Young Communicator. Ultimately Victoria McGovern was selected as the overall winner based on her passion for the industry, enthusiasm for the role she plays in her consultancy, and her clear drive for the future."
Vicky, who was elated by the win said: “I’m delighted to be recognised as the Fresh Awards Young PR Professional! I’ve worked hard, learnt so much and worked with some fantastic people and clients. I’m looking forward to my continued progression and my future in this ever changing industry.”
Claire Cairns, Director and Founder of BOTTLE said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won both awards. The Poundland team have been relentless in their approach to the PR strategy and Vicky has made an outstanding contribution to BOTTLE since joining the agency in late 2009. She has helped BOTTLE become a trusted partner rather than just a delivery agency. This is what makes her a standout consultant – some people don’t achieve that by 40. She is a valuable member of our team and most definitely one to watch in the PR industry.”
