Recession-Busting Poundland Re-Appoints BOTTLE

Following a highly successful initial contract of eighteen months, high street success story, Poundland, has re-appointed BOTTLE as its retained agency for the coming year following a competitive pitch against four other agencies.

Will Cairns, Managing Director at BOTTLE, comments: “The team at BOTTLE love working with Poundland and we are thrilled to retain the account. Our corporate and consumer brief is being extended in the next financial year and we looking forward to delivering more stellar results for one of the undoubted successes of the credit crunch and recession."

BOTTLE has achieved widespread coverage in business, consumer and broadcast media for Europe’s largest single price discount retailer, helping to position the company as a retailer bucking the recession. For the first time, Poundland has received significant spreads in the likes of The Financial Times, The Independent and The Guardian, as well as national broadcast coverage on BBC Breakfast, Five Live, Working Lunch, BBC Radio 2 and many more.

Plans going forward include a greater focus on new customers by using creative PR campaigns to whet their appetite to discover what Poundland has to offer and retain them as Britain emerges from the recession.
Poundland’s Marketing Manager, Harminder Sidhu, said: “We expect all our suppliers to re-pitch competitively for our business and PR is no exception. BOTTLE has worked hard to retain this account and we’re looking forward to putting our exciting plans into action.”
