BOTTLE 2.0 opens up the conversation with social media audience
BOTTLE PR has launched its dedicated BOTTLE 2.0 division to offer Web 2.0 tools to current and potential clients .
BOTTLE PR is urging its business-to-business, consumer and not-for-profit accounts to make new media channels an integral part of their communications plan. The rapid rise of Web 2.0 and social media sites has brought a new generation of web-based communities and influencers. It is estimated that more than 100 million blogs are now posted on the web.
Activities offered through the service include blogging, email, video and audio podcasting and social networking. The BOTTLE 2.0 team monitors online reputation and coverage and works with clients to help them engage in the online conversation and also provides crisis management.
Claire Cairns, Joint Managing Director of BOTTLE PR, comments: “It’s a trend that’s moved rapidly out of the teenage geek’s bedroom to excite all age groups, so businesses and not-for-profits alike ignore at their peril. But it’s a minefield for the unwary. With an audience which has the power to talk back – and bite back – as never before, organisations can’t get away with posting a bland, ‘vanilla’ company blog. Communications must be interactive and have intrinsic value and interest.”
The move to launch BOTTLE 2.0 has already paid off, says Claire: “We have been advising a wide range of businesses on how to use new media techniques to proactively engage with their publics.”
