BOTTLE PR: where ideas pour out

CASE STUDY:  POUNDLAND

As part of BOTTLE PR's continued work for Poundland, the team has positioned Poundland as one of the few "winners" in the credit crunch. BOTTLE PR has successfully raised the profile of Poundland and its CEO Jim McCarthy over the last year and a half. This success has culminated in Poundland releasing incredible full year and interim trading results post Christmas 2008.

Central to the success of the campaign has been the transition from product led, product placement activity to a wide ranging corporate programme which has delivered significant results with over 100 pieces of national coverage since April 2008. Coverage includes multiple articles and features in each of the following media:

Broadcast - ITN News at Ten, BBC News, Sky News, BBC Radio 2's Chris Evans Show, BBC Radio Five Live, BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat and Radio 4's Today programme.

National Print - The Financial Times, The Independent, The Times, The Sun, Financial Times, Daily Mail, Daily Express, Daily Star, Daily Mirror, plus consumer and trade publications, Retail Week, The Grocer, Marketing Week, Chat, Real People, Take a Break and Love it!

There have also been multiple regional hits with a number of regional print and broadcast pieces, on both radio and TV, including the launch of over 30 new Poundland stores in 2008, across the country.

“The team are always on message and understand our proposition clearly, delivering opportunities at a consistently high rate. The team are extremely passionate and dedicated to succeed and we have been thrilled with the boost the Poundland brand has received over the last year.”
Harminder Sidhu, Marketing Manager, Poundland

CASE STUDY:  HOUSE OF BATH

BOTTLE PR was appointed in July 2008 to raise awareness of House of Bath and launch the brand to the media.

House of Bath is a multi channel retailer of classic and contemporary items for every room of the home, specialising in products for the living area, bathroom and bedroom. Having never used PR before, House of Bath was impressed by BOTTLE PR’s enthusiasm and great media consumer contacts.

The bulk of the PR activity focuses on fundamentals PR including media relations, competitions, media samples and the organisation of periodical media briefing days. The placement of profile pieces, interiors advice and trend comment from relevant buyers also plays an important part in gaining coverage for House of Bath. Another integral part of the PR campaign aim is to reach out to new target audiences with day-to-day PR activity aimed at attracting attention to both the House of Bath brand and its products.

After the first 6 months’ activity from July to December 2008, BOTTLE PR gained great media coverage in target publications such as Woman & Home, Home & Holidays (Sunday Mirror), 25 Beautiful Homes, Prima and Period House.

CASE STUDY:  FRESITA

For Fresita, the new sparkling wine from Chile, BOTTLE PR organised an event for consumer journalists. The aim was to provide a memorable evening that would help them link Fresita with fun nights with the girls. We took them to The Energy Clinic in London for pampering treatments and a glass or two of bubbly.

Caroline Thompson-Hill, Brand Manager for Fresita says:

"The Fresita Girls Night In was a huge success thanks to the hard work and passion of BOTTLE. The idea was fresh and innovative, and it was carried out really well - meaning I got value for money and some great coverage!"

“The success of the two-day Tim Campbell visit was intrinsically linked to a huge amount of effort, energy, persistence, commitment and hard work from BOTTLE PR. So, I genuinely want to say ‘thanks’ to the team.

With a very tight timescale, you all managed to secure a superb level of interest from a wide range of media outlets. The coverage on ‘ITV Thames Valley Tonight’ was excellent. It was on-message, positive and entertaining. It takes a lot of persuasion to make ITV allocate a reporter/cameraman for a three hour slot, so your endeavour generated a very impressive piece of footage. The AVE figure alone for a four minute piece will dwarf any other activities that we have done.

In addition, you all did a great job in enticing newspaper journalists to come out and interview Tim. Thanks for your passion, enthusiasm and focus for helping us to make the campaign a success. Not every agency could have delivered the results for us. Not many at all considering timeframe and the constantly changing agenda.

The package of coverage promises to be outstanding.  Thank you very much for all your help.”
Steven Heaton, Communications Manager, The Learning and Skills Council
