Will’s Big Wig Week for Sue Ryder Care
As part of the ‘Big Wigs Challenge’ to raise money for Sue Ryder Care, Will Cairns, joint managing director of Oxfordshire PR agency BOTTLE PR, will be wearing a ridiculous blue Marge Simpson-style wig for a whole week, 23 - 27 June.
BOTTLE PR is inviting businesses and individuals to sponsor Will Cairns to keep the wig on during the whole week in a bid to raise money for the charity.
The 2008 Big Wigs challenge began with Sue Ryder Care giving local businesses, and individuals from the business world, a crisp £50 note. The task is to increase the £50 note through a number of creative and entrepreneurial money-making campaigns before the end of July.
Will Cairns from BOTTLE PR commented: “A whole week will be a challenge, especially as I will be attending regular client meetings. However, I am determined to live up to our slogan ‘we’ve got the BOTTLE’ and would really appreciate the support of local businesses via donations to the charity.”
Geraldine Harmon, of Sue Ryder Care, Nettlebed Hospice says, “This is a fantastic idea. BOTTLE PR has got some great innovative ideas but I am particularly excited about Will doing a Big Wig Week! I can’t wait to hear if Will does wear it for a full week and how much BOTTLE PR raise.”
BOTTLE PR has set out some rules for Will’s Big Wig Week Challenge. Will must wear the wig throughout the working day from 9am to 5.30pm, from Monday 23 June through to Friday 27 June. If he takes off the wig during these periods then he must make a personal donation to the Big Wig charity fund.
BOTTLE PR was inspired by the Sue Ryder ethos and their huge contribution to the community and has since followed their lead by enrolling in the Big Wigs Challenge.
Emma Forbes, senior PR consultant at BOTTLE PR says: “I think it’s great that Will is doing this. I think it will prove more of a challenge than he anticipates but if he does complete the full week then we will be extremely proud.”
