General Electric launches UK digital camera range
General Electric launched a range of digital cameras to widespread media acclaim on 22 January at the OXO Tower in London - the picture perfect location for journalists and photo bloggers to try out the new cameras.
Cementing its move into the UK consumer market, General Electric, the second largest company in the world launched the range which includes entry level point and shoot cameras with 7 or 8 mega pixels; the A735 and A835, a best in class 8 mega pixel camera; the E840 and a selection of cameras with 10 and 12 mega pixels, with the E1050 and the G2 best in class at this level.
National journalists and bloggers enjoyed the chance to experiment with the 14 impressive features integrated in each camera. With a notable interest in the panoramic stitching and blink and smile detection features, the media were able to photograph the perfect panorama views provided by the OXO Tower terrace, which stretches from the Shell Building to the Gherkin and beyond.
The new player in the digital camera market managed to impress with the amazing range of camera colours available; the sunflower yellow in particular. To perfect the launch event a beautiful sunny London morning ensured the best shots possible.
Once back at the office the BOTTLE PR team started collating the incredible online coverage that was appearing by the minute; journalists certainly seemed to welcome another strong player to the consumer digital camera market. Some of the initial coverage has appeared in Amateur Photographer, The Sun Online, BBC London Online, T3, Web User, BPI and PC Pro to name just a few.
The cameras will be available for purchase from early March and are sure to cause as much of a stir amongst consumers.
