Lady Godiva in the nudes again
BOTTLE PR helped young film director, Vicky Jewson (22), make the most of the biggest night of her life. Vicky's first film, Lady Godiva, premiered in Oxford on 22 January.
With a report about Vicky on Jonathan Ross' Film 2008 the previous week and a profile piece in the FT on Saturday 19 January, the buzz began to build.
A late confirmation that young actress Libby Jewson (Vicky's younger sister) would be riding naked on horseback to the premiere generated blanket coverage on the radio stations throughout the entire day on Tuesday and ITV ran three separate reports on Vicky and the premiere - the day before, live from the cinema and a full report the day after. Other regional media got their shout at interviews in the afternoon.
The premiere itself was a real success. Crowds gathered and cheered plucky Libby as she rode up, giving Oxford a taste of glamour usually only seen in Leicester Square.
The film is being show both at the Odeon in Oxford and in 19 Showcase cinemas throughout the UK and a report just in from Showcase says that their members screenings on Wednesday night secured the second biggest ever attendance - not bad considering they show all the big blockbusters.
Regional media work has included 'spot the Godiva' radio competitions in Leeds, Manchester and Bristol, and a slew of radio and print interviews with Vicky.
Vicky will be appearing on Woman's Hour on Friday 25 January and is scheduled to appear on Chris Evans' drivetime the same day.
