Will’s New York Marathon success
Joint Managing Director of BOTTLE PR Will Cairns has completed the New York City Marathon raising over £3,000 for NSPCC in the process.
The New York City Marathon, sponsored by former BOTTLE PR client lNG, is one of the world's great road races, drawing more than 90,000 applicants. The 26.2-mile course travels through all five boroughs of the city, starting on Staten Island and finishing in Manhattan's Central Park. This year a field of over 39,000 runners competed before two million cheering spectators and 315 million worldwide television viewers.
But, like many participants, the race for Will was against himself: “This was the hardest Marathon I have ever competed - I am thrilled to have finished and to raise so much money for one of the most worthwhile causes. The course is very demanding with a number of significant hills and I found myself doubting my ability to finish throughout the second half of the race. I am already planning my next marathon although I now need a good rest to let my body and mind recover!"
